Lifestyle portraits have a goal of capturing people in their everyday environment. When taking lifestyle portraits, I will direct a session rather than pose a portrait in the traditional way. I try to capture life as it is, but instead of waiting for perfect, everyday moments to happen, we plan a photo shoot that will naturally create those moments for you. Maybe talking a walk through a park like you might any other day and stopping along to way to take in the area. Some might prefer a backyard session in their own environment. Others might want to include items that have meaning to them in a place they love.
Brothers, Josh and Ethan, asked me to incorporate their high school and the memories they shared on the football field in their session together. They have played together for many years and wanted to capture the bond they have on and off the field. I would dare to say that based on the smiles and reactions to being able to revisit the field for this session, that the memories there were very happy ones, indeed.
