Today, I want you to meet Mackenzie. Confident, generous and creative are the words that come to mind when I think about her. She is a senior in high school and also my cousin's daughter. I was so excited when they asked me to travel to Indiana for her session and a family visit!
She chose to do a Senior Modeling Session which includes 3-4 hours with numerous outfit changes and locations. We traveled all over town to places that were meaningful to her. We visited the campus where her father teaches, a park where she hiked with family, some cool graffiti spots that showcased her art interests and a beautiful campground where she created special memories with her brother. One location was especially wet from the afternoon rain and led to some slips and slides on my part, which cued the laughs from both of us! We saved the camera from disaster, the bruises healed quickly, the pants weren't my favorite anyway and the rest will be funny for years to come.
I loved the outfits that Mackenzie chose for the shoot. Some that featured her playful teenage side: casual, fashionable and fun. Others were dresses that showcased her figure and were a more formal look. The great part was watching how her outfit also reflected in her pose selections. She said, "I had tons of fun with the different locations and tried to express myself through them." She is a natural born model and really didn't need much guidance when it came to posing!
I asked Mackenzie if she had any advice to offer others who were getting ready to start high school. This is what she had to share: "Don't worry about the small stuff and focus on what is important. And get involved with lots of stuff. It will help you find friends and figure out what you like to do and looks great on your college resume."
After high school, Mackenzie plans to study Psychology. I have no doubt she will be great at anything she chooses to do in the future and will leave to world a better place with her loving spirit and go-get-'em style!
