Every once in awhile there is a person who comes along and changes your life for the better. My friend, Katie, is one of those people. I first met her in a small group at my church and we grew to know each other as prayer partners, moms of preteens, community volunteers and worked together on some events. What always struck me most about her was her calm and loving demeanor. I saw her walk through the hectic life we led with a glowing grace that few exhibit. She never ran by you without a hug or kind word whispered in your ear. She always remembered to check in on your life and listened with an open heart. Katie showed strength through hard times in life and became the wife and mother I longed to be with my own family. And on top of all her good inside, she is strikingly beautiful outside, too.
Katie asked me to do a family photo session with her and all I could think of was, that family is just too pretty for me to do them justice! The handsome, debounaire husband, model beautiful daughters and Katie's beauty, what was I to do? However, Katie made it easy by selecting a local favorite park as our backdrop. The park is not a super fancy place, but had meant a lot to her family through the years. Right before our session, Katie sent me a note to say that they were going to be moving away. I knew this was my only chance to give them a memorable afternoon in our little town that they could take with them forever.
So, here they are! Four of the most beautiful people I have ever known, outside and more importantly, inside. They beam with love for one another. They laugh at the family jokes. They know exactly what one another are thinking. They share a physical connection that I just love, especially the daughters. Holding hands with your sister as a teen isn't always cool, but these two just fell right into one another's arms as if was natural to them. I will miss this family so much and the example they set for me, but I know that hearts connect in our lives for a reason and I know they have blessed me!
